volumetric weight Kg.3
Minton Ware, ceramic products of Mintons Ltd., founded in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, by Thomas Minton and partners in 1793. Minton is
credited with the design of willowware a decade earlier, when he was an
apprentice. The willow-ware pattern, with a stylized Chinese
scene generally printed in blue, soon became a popular transfer-printed
design for tableware. During the 19th century, Mintons became one of the
premier British manufacturers of ceramics. Under the leadership of Thomas
Minton's son Herbert, the firm added decorative porcelain (often in the
Sèvres style), ornamental Parian figures, and colourful majolica pieces to
its prolific output. In the 20th century, Mintons continues to produce
high-quality porcelain tableware (diam. plates cm. 14/16 - in. 5.6/6.4, cup

pencil holder with cat, biscuit, (end of 19th c.)
CULTURAL GOOD volumetric weight Kg.3
The term -biscuit- refers to the unglazed body of the porcelain. This
technique, introduced in the mid-1750s, helped to preserve the crisp
modelling, which had previously been blurred by the application of a thick,
viscous glaze. Although some of these figures were conceived as table
decorations and as part of the dessert centerpiece, others were sold singly
or in pairs for display on top of furniture or mantelpieces (high cm. 10 -
in. 4). Excellent conditions.
Unique Features
unusual is the theme, representing a cat
lying down at the feet of a big shelled egg, hence this piece can be
