Probably of
English origin, it is an ice bucket with the lower portion made from
processed glass with relief geometrical figures in the Art Deco style,
whereas the mouth is coated with a band from Sheffield silver
reproducing vegetal motifs with a series of small leaves, all equal to one
another. The handle is movable and is fixed to the band with two hinges, and
it is processed with floral motifs as well (diam.cm. 11 - in. 4.4, high cm.
21 - in. 8.4). Optimum conditions.

shape, whose lid is equipped with a big knob. The glass is engraved with
floral decorations. It was used to lodge cotton flocks or, at all events, as

The opaline glass is
generally opaque glass or crystal, either white or coloured, made in France
between approximately 1810 and 1890. Opaline resembles the milk glass of
16th-century Venice and the opaque, white glass associated with Bristol,
Eng., in the 18th century. The main centres of production were Creusot,
Baccarat, and Saint-Louis. Items made of opaline included bowls, vases,
boxes, cups, and decanters as well as objects used by perfumers and
hairdressers (diam.cm. 20 - in. 8, high cm. 8 - in. 3.2). Optimum
