This work is attributed to Gaetano Peverada (1742-1819), a painter who was native of Locarno, in the Ticino canton (Switzerland), and who later moved to Ponte S. Pietro (Lombardy) by the end of the XVIII century, and distinguished himself owing to a remarkable production of religious works that are found in several churches in the Bergamo and Venetian areas (see -Bergamo painters from XVIII to XIX century-, Vol 3 - The XVIII century. Collection of studies edited by the Banca Popolare di Bergamo, publ. Bolis 1990).
