It is a reproduction of the famous -Barovier- cup, dating back to the year 1450, whose original is kept in the Museo Vetrario of Murano (Murano Glassware Museum). The Glass Master Angelo Barovier is much renowned due to his numberless innovations among which the invention of crystalline glass. Crystalline glass is a highly transparent material, which is obtained owing to manganese having a decolorating effect on the Venetian sodic glass. Due to the purity and lightness features, this product soon won the market and quickly replaced the manufacture of the heavy coloured glass. Cups of the Barovier type are the most characteristic enamel-decorated products and were mostly manufactured from intense blue or green glass (diam.cm.20 - in.8, high cm.21 - in.8.4)
